Painting a Silk Scarf Workshop

Painting your own contemporary silk scarf, inspired by floral styling, using bright, bold, beautiful flowers and foliage.

The workshop will begin with a short introduction to silk painting with some visual examples of styles and techniques used. To get ideas and inspiration the class will begin with quick colour sketches/paint washes to plan for composition. There will be small test patches of silk to experiment with before moving on to your scarf.

10 - 10.15 - introduction

10.15 - 10.45 - sketching/ colour washes

10.45 - 11 test patches using silk painting guttas to draw and silk paints

11 – 1:00pm - painting silk scarf

Refreshments, cake and all materials included

£65 including scarf

About Charlie…

We are super excited to be hosting this workshop with the brilliant Charlie Betts. Charlie holds an MA in Fine Art with Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art. Charlie has a studio in the Surrey Hills and has exhibited widely nationally. Charlie has extensive teaching experience in a wide range of settings and we are really pleased to be able to welcome her to Wattle & Daub.
